This artwork is one of a series inspired by Shakespeare's Hamlet. The portrait tells the story of my model who had recently lost his grandmother, who the family believed took the form of a butterfly. Is the conversation with the skull or butterfly?

Hand stitching on muslin, cotton and flocked organza.

size: 2 x 3 ft
